Sweet Recipe: Frosting

For all you sweet lovers out there, you're gonna love this. A quick & easy frosting recipe where you probably have all the ingredients already at home. Gather round the mixer and we'll get started!

I am not a big frosting fan. Except buttercream. But really buttercream is in a world all its own. Heavenly. O buttercream. Buttercream is good. Makes me think of our wedding cake. O buttercream brings back memories. But this isn't a recipe for buttercream. So let's move on.

Ok, I said I'm not a big fan of frosting but this, this I like. This frosting is fluffy. Not too heavy. Not too sugary. It's a good combination to balance out a dessert that is really rich. Um, say brownies.

What you'll need:
1 stick softened butter
1/4 to 1/2 bag of powdered sugar {just depends how sugary you want it}
2 teaspoons of cocoa powder {or more if you want a deep chocolate flavor}
milk {you'll pour in a little at a time probably used 2-3 splashes total}
1 container of cool whip

What to do:
Get the butter going in your mixer. Then add the powdered sugar & cocoa powder. Keep the mixer going. Drop in some splashes of milk. Then I stopped the mixer and spooned the cool whip in. Start the mixer and let it all combine. Taste. Stop and scrape the sides if necessary. Taste. Wa-la, you have frosting. Now, taste some more. Because you're the baker. And you can.

And then if you have a best friend like me, spoon the frosting into a frosting bag {or a large ziplock bag works wonders too, then just snip one of the bottom corners} with a fun decorating tip at the end. Now decorate your sweet treat with this fluffy frosting!

Enjoy my friends. Perhaps you can use this recipe on Sunday for your special someone. Or make it and consume all by yourself! No judging over here. oxox
